3 Point & Free Throw Challenge Charity Event

Think You Got What It Takes?

We Are 1 will be hosting a 3-point and free throw competition.

One competition will be for the most 3-pointers made in a certain time.

One competition will be for the most free throws made in a certain time.

This event will have two brackets: amateur (18 & under) and adult (19 & over)

There will be three (3) rounds, with the location of the finals to be announced.

There will be prizes for the amateur and adult winners of both competitions, four (4) winners in total.

This competition is for both men and women of all ages.

How to Sign Up

The cost of participation will be $2 for amateurs, $5 for adults. If you are participating in both challenges, it will be $4 for amateurs and $10 for adults.

Participants can upload multiple videos during the submission time, but each video submission would require payment.

Participants can pay their entrance fee through the WeAre1 PayPal account 

Submissions will be open April 12th, 2019, and will be closed on June 12th, 2019.

Free Throw Challenge

Round 1: Most free throws made in 60 seconds.

Round 2: Most free throws made in 75 seconds.

Finals: Most free throws made in 85 seconds.

3-Point Challenge

Round 1: Most 3-pointers made in 60 seconds.

Round 2: Most 3-pointers made in 75 seconds.

Finals: Most 3-pointers made in 85 seconds.

Prizes

There will be prizes for the amateur bracket and cash prizes for the adult bracket. We cannot give cash prizes to high school or college players as this could violate Alabama high school athletics rules or affect college sports eligibility.

The amateur prizes and cash prize pool will be announced after the submission period ends.

In 2017, UAB retired her jersey number and elected her to the UAB Department of Athletics Hall of Fame.

She is proof that hard work does pay off!

The Rules

Each participant must submit a video of their challenge to the WeAre1 Facebook page.

Each video must have the participant’s name, age, where they are from and their school (for students) in the description of the video.

Each video should only be long enough for the challenge to be completed. (No intros or extra production should be included.)

Each participant can ONLY USE TWO (2) BALLS.

Each participant is allowed to have a maximum of two (2) people rebounding the balls and feeding them back to the shooter.

One person must be timing the challenge, the clock starts when the first shot leaves the participant’s hand.

The video should be shot from behind the shooter, showing the 3-point or free throw line and the goal. Find a video angle that shows the shooter, the line and the goal.

For the 3-point competition, the participant must shoot from one general area beyond the arc, for filming and viewing purposes.

Women are allowed to use women’s basketball, men must use full regulation sized balls.

Those participating in the amateur bracket can shoot on amateur, high school or college courts length 3-point line.

Those participating in the adult bracket must shoot from college or professional length 3-point line.

If one participant is competing in both competitions, they must submit two (2) separate videos.
